A rant and a $75 giveaway

There’s a bit in the bible where Jesus is sorting out the sheep from the goats and says

‘I was hungry and you fed me, I was sick and you visited me,  I needed clothes and you clothed me

How I live is important to Jesus. He determines whether I truly loved him by seeing how I treat other people. Less talk, more action, if you like.  I reckon its a good system.

Well, I haven’t clothed any poor people lately, but it appears the poor have been clothing me.

I’ll show you what I mean

So, did we learn anything?

To go where we’ve never been and learn what we didn’t know we didn’t know

That was one of our goals when we decided to travel.

So, is there anything specific we’ve learnt in our 12 months away from home? I came up with a few things:

1) Its easier when the children don’t help  with dressing, washing up, reading maps and guidebooks, or packing. Which is absolutely NOT THE POINT

what else?

And then I had surgery

I went into hospital for surgery, this emblem sat above my hospital bed.  My body is not big or strong and I do not have child bearing hips. And I’ve had a whole bunch of babies. Six, actually, and the first four all came all at once.  I don’t regret any of it for a second, but let’s just say that my body paid a pretty big price. My back has ached for ten years. And my physiotherapist looked at my tummy and laughed saying “no amount of pilates is going to fix that!”
you see…
