Well, the world is a funny place.
Two and a half years ago I wrote a letter to someone I had never met in my life. It was 2808 words long. That amounts to rudeness. No one should go on and on for that long; people are busy! Cut it down!! Keep it short and sweet!
I poured out all my frustrations with institutional schooling, living in a house, suburban living and unsatiated wanderlust. I explained how desperately we wanted to show our kids the world, before perhaps it was too late For Sparky to do so comfortably. I told her how we needed a wheelchair that could go anywhere and do anything, and needed to be able to feed Sparky blended up food, and somehow keep it cold. And how I was going stir crazy and loved reading other people’s travel blogs!!
Her reply was one of a couple factors that made us jump on a plane and spend fully one year in Asia. And there we met them in person!
Anyway, the other day (months ago) Chris picked the entire Miller family up from the Perth airport and they came to sleep on our loungeroom floor, and hang out with us.
Its been lovely fun. So many big kids for our littlies to race around after. Music, hot tea, pass-the-baby, beach. All good.
And would you believe they gave Chris and I fully TWO HOURS off!! We actually went out for actual coffee, by our actual selves. This is rare stuff folks! Terrible photo, but it was this or no proof at all!
We packed them off down south in our van while we moved house, with a list of lovely spots to visit. They are proper bloggers, not late, vague and unreliable like me, so they wrote what they did when they did it)
Thanks Millers for visiting. ( I know this is several months late) Jenn and Tony, you guys are a travel and parenting inspiration. And Hannah, Gabe, Elisha and Ezra you all all a walking talking laughing singing best selling advertisement for travelhomeschooling, if ever there was one.
Thanks Jenn for your very first email to me. It made more difference that you probably thought at the time.
( If you go read Jenn’s blog, you will see that we DO get to meet them all again, it will be like looking in to the future when you come back here and realise I’m still working my way through February!)
