In my blogging absence you may have thought we were still sitting happily on the beach in Goa. OH I WISH.

We did spend three weeks there, and even three weeks is hard to write about because there was no drama, no stress. We had a cheap but lovely room on the beach.  It was the end of a full year of glorious travel. So we rested.

We swam

We played

We walked

It was Diwali, we enjoyed the candles and fireworks

We ate the most wonderful food every day

Our kids walked to the local chai shop each day to buy yoghurt and fried breads for breakfast

We did our Christmas shopping

We did lots of people watching

And animal watching!IMG_2611

We made friends

We wondered about the circus girl who performed everyday on the beach.  Where does she live? Does she go to school?

And everyday, we saw the sun go down

Drank one of these

And were grateful for family time, beauty and quiet.

Leaving was when the drama began. Stay tuned!

Oh my kids are a great age, and ours are 8 years apart! In fact, I cant think of a bad age to trael, maybe 13? My bubba was 8 months when we left, it worked out really well with him at that age. How old are yours?

Oh, Goa sounds like a lovely place to kick back and relax. We’re hoping to add it to our list of places to hit and spend a bit of time volunteering with our kidlets. Any suggestions on where to stay for cheap? I’d love some tips and ideas. We will be there around the same time, but next year.
    Happy travels!

      Hi Sonja
Yes, its lovely, and not the crazy party place it used to be. We found our cheap and lovely place by walking along Patnem beach and asking. But, we were there at the very start of the season (oct); it may be that for peak season you’d have to book. There are so many choices on the beaches.

This is Patnem beach. Known for being good for families. ( also the one Jason Bourne runs along in the second movie!)
We just walked along looking at the different places til we found a cheap one with room for us all, I think it had some kind of a Mexocan name?
