My brother Tintin

Today we have a guest post from one of our daughters, nine year old Meena. She was inspired to write about one of her brothers, and has chosen some great photos too!

What does Tintin use his brain for most of all?

Is it spelling?

Is it maths?

Is it  science?

It is art. Well, a kind of art

This is what it is: creation and imagination.

Tintin uses these two things all the time. This is how; he builds things out of rubbish like planes or cars or lifts or even something to cheer up someone sad.

Tintin uses his creativity and imagination for drawing and singing.

One of my favourite pictures drawn by Tintin

Tintin uses his creativity and imagination to build things.

He even used his creativity to practice Parkour at Ankor Wat. He imagines he is flying through the air .

For me, Tintin has something special; his kindness and helpfulness.

Tintin also likes building things.  He makes fantastic things out of lego  Snowy and I follow him around all the time and say ‘we can’t do that and you can’ And ‘you’re the best at it,  you’re the best.’

Tintin’s words aren’t always big, but they bring love to us. Only sometimes he says something bad, and that is when his creations aren’t working or if he needs to stop what he’s doing and go and do something else like write his journal or go for a walk.

That’s what I know. Tintin’s brain is for creation and imagination.

Tintin  is a GREAT brother with a GREAT brain.

I am so lucky to have a brother like Tintin. Do you have a wonderful and creative brother? They are one of the best things in the world!

Tin-tin would not be such a wonderful brother without such a beautiful sister as you Meena, with help from your brothers and sisters.

Meena thank you for sharing your insights into your wonderful brother. I read the post to Mac and he said Tintin sounds very cool. He also thinks Tintin is lucky to have a sister like you too. He particularly liked the straw construction.

Meena, I loved your post. You write so well and sincerely.

Reading the blogs has made me see even more just how special your family is and I feel richer for the experience.

Do you know what the word ‘vicarious’ means? Perhap you can look it up. I think it would be appropriate here to describe the impact of the pictures and words used to show what life is like in the countries you are visiting.

I don’t really have words, Meena, to say how amazing this post is!

Tell Tintin and Snowy and Sparky and Baby Boy and your Mum and your Dad that I miss them… and give them each a hug from me (and a kiss for Mum and Baby Boy, I don’t think the boys want one)… then imagine a Great Big Hug and a Great Big Kiss from me to you. Keep writing! You’ve got a talent for it.
