Bottle Beach Bliss

Bottle Beach is on the non-Full Moon Party side of Koh Phangan and is approached only by boat. There is no good coffee in any of the  four restaurants. Our restaurant only had 2 CDs on constant rotation. The electricity went out every day just as the sun went down…

But none of that mattered.

We had a week of swimming and friends and food and sleep.  There was a lookout to be climbed, and for the first time ever, Sparky  did not miss out on rock scrambling. The water was turquoise. The air was quiet. And it was beautiful.

And two large Thai lanterns flew over the gulf of Thailand with ‘Happy Birthday Snowy’ written on them. And a very happy five year old boy smiled with shining eyes, and waved until they had dissappeared from sight .

So so beautiful. This post filled and warmed my heart so very much. Just love the joy in Sparky’s face as she joins in the rock scrambling. Precious. Wonderful photos. And your description of the Snowy and his lanterns, oh! Beautiful. Happy 5th Birthday Snowy!

What kind of carrier is Sparky using? It looks Ergo-like, but I’m guessing custom made for a larger kid? BTW, that’s an inspired idea! We’re still back carrying my sizey three year old, so why not?

Hi Lorien, yes its a standard Ergo. It’s just big enough/ In 6 months we may sew another piece of fabric in to make it longer. Ergos are amazing, I wouldn’t bother with anything else.

I found your blog searching for Bottle Beach. Beautiful pictures and seems like the thing we are looking for, just to get away and do nothing. May I ask which resort you were staying in? We are planning to go there in January and it’s hard to decide :)
Answer if you have the time but I fully understand if you don’t
    Thanks!!! Lisa
